Yolanda Victoria Torres was raised in Orange County. She attended California State University, Long Beach and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with Minor in Spanish. She went on to pursue her law degree at University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, in Sacramento. Yolanda has extensive experience as a family law attorney. She is a Certified Family Law Specialist by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization Yolanda's primary area of practice is family law. Yolanda has practiced law for approximately 17 years.
Yolanda prefers working in a boutique law firm setting as she believes her clients are better served in that they are able to obtain the one on one attention they need. As the Principal of her firm, she is very fortunate in that she represents clients from diverse backgrounds, whether it be from handling a celebrity matter, or high net worth client, or helping a Veteran in need, or some other pro bono matter.
Yolanda represents clients in Divorces, Child Custody matters, Child Support actions, Spousal Support matters, Domestic Violence cases, Property Division, Step-Parent Adoptions, Parentage matters and Contempt Actions. As cases are taking longer to litigate due to the Courts being impacted, Yolanda decided to add Family Law Mediation to her practice in addition to litigating cases. In mediation, clients are often very satisfied as there is a sense of certainty and because mediation is financially affordable. Yolanda hopes to serve the needs of her clients by assisting in an amicable resolution in Family Law Mediation. In May 2017, Yolanda completed the renowned course at Harvard Law School, "Negotiating the Impossible."
Yolanda has spoken on family law issues and is an Adjunct Professor at Western State College of Law in Irvine where she teaches a Family Law Course.
