J.R. "Lynn" Böes, R.N., B.S.N., J.D. graduated from the University of Iowa College of Nursing with High Distinction in 1979. She has been a registered nurse for 30 years and had national certification in Community Health Nursing through December 31, 1999. She has practiced in a wide variety of settings, including home care (both governmental (county) and hospital-based agencies), hospital nursing (intensive care, Medical-Surgical, Orthopedics, and Skilled Nursing), and as a Consultant for the State of Iowa Department of Public Health and Drake University Center for Health Issues. Ms. Böes has served in both direct patient care and administrative capacities in the health field. Ms. Böes graduated from Drake Law School with Honors in 1996. She is a Shareholder at the Davis, Brown, Koehn, Shors and Roberts law firm in Des Moines, Iowa and is a member of their Health Law Department. She provides representation to Health Care Facilities, Health Care Associations, and Health Care Providers on a broad array of health and legal issues. Projects have included drafting legislative language, representing clients at hearings, presenting speeches on legal issues in health care, and researching case law, statutory law, and regulatory law, for the purpose of rendering legal opinions. Ms. Böes is a member of the Iowa Bar Association, the Polk County Women Attorneys, the Iowa Nurses’ Association and the American Health Lawyers Association.
