Gary S. Betensky is board certified by The Florida Bar in business litigation law. Board certification recognizes special knowledge, skills and proficiency and distinguishes Mr. Betensky as a specialist in business litigation law. Mr. Betensky maintains a civil trial practice involving complex business disputes and dispute resolution.
Mr. Betensky received a Bachelor of Science in Public Communication from Boston University. He then earned his law degree from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center where he served as an editor of The Law Review and as an officer of the Moot Court Board. While in law school, Mr. Betensky was awarded a Judicial-Clerk Scholarship by The Florida Bar.
Mr. Betensky is a member of The Florida Bar, the American Bar Association and the Palm Beach County Bar Association. He is a former Chair and current member of the Professional Ethics Committee of The Florida Bar, and a former Chair of The Florida Bar’s Grievance Committee in and for the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit (Palm Beach County). He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Ambassadors Board of Nova Southeastern University.
Mr. Betensky is a member of the Executive Committee and of the Board of Directors of the Palm Beach County Regional Office of the American Jewish Committee. He formerly served as the region's president. He is also a graduate of Leadership Broward County, Florida.
Honors and Distinctions
In addition to his Board certification status, Mr. Betensky holds an AV rating from Martindale Hubbell, which is the highest rating regarding legal ability and professional ethics. He has been selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America in the area of commercial litigation. He has also been named as a Florida Super Lawyer in the areas of business litigation and intellectual property. This distinction is reserved for the top 5% of Florida attorneys in their respective areas of practice as chosen by their peers and the independent research of Law and Politics. Mr. Betensky has received a special commendation from the Florida Supreme Court and the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County for his pro bono work.
