Robert T. Keen Jr. is a trial lawyer who focuses his litigation practice in the areas of commercial litigation, insurance defense, premises liability, products liability, employment litigation, and the defense of lawsuits filed against local governments and police officers. Bob has tried hundreds of cases in state and federal courts across the State of Indiana for businesses, insurance companies, and governmental entities.
In 2006, Bob was inducted as a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers, which is by invitation only and limited to the top one percent of the total lawyer population in any state. In addition, Bob has been selected for inclusion in Best Lawyers in America for Commercial Litigation, Bet-the-Company Litigation, Litigation – Labor and Employment, Personal Injury Litigation – Defendants, Litigation – Municipal and Civil Right Law. Best Lawyers in America also recognized Bob as a Fort Wayne “Lawyer of the Year” in 2016 for Personal Injury Litigation – Defendants; in 2018 for Litigation – Labor and Employment and in 2020 for Bet-the-Company Litigation. Bob is a member of many associations and institutes, including the Allen County Bar Association, the Indiana State Bar Association, the Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana, the Defense Research Institute, and the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel. He is past president of the Benjamin Harrison American Inns of Court and is also a frequent speaker on various litigation topics at Indiana Continuing Education Forum seminars.
He received his B.A., cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame and his J.D., also from University of Notre Dame. Bob is admitted to practice in all Indiana State courts, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
