Bob’s diverse practice focuses on representing health care providers and other highly regulated enterprises in litigation and in matters regarding regulatory, compliance and other business and operational concerns.
Bob’s litigation work entails a wide range of subject matters, including defending healthcare providers, life science, pharmaceutical and clinical research entities, medical product manufacturers, professional engineering firms and other technical and scientific services companies against personal injury, death and products liability claims. He also handles various commercial disputes implicating clients’ operations, such as those arising from regulated reimbursement, contract and business fraud disputes. Bob regularly litigates throughout Florida as well as in other jurisdictions.
Through his work in the laboratory, clinical trial, pharmaceutical and medical products industries, Bob has fostered a strong skill set in cultivating and challenging specialized expert opinion testimony and a heightened ability to present complex issues to courts and juries. These skills have allowed him to litigate and try a wide array of challenging cases throughout his career.
Bob also spends a significant portion of his practice counseling healthcare and life science clients with regard to regulatory, compliance, licensure and certification matters. He regularly resolves facility licensure issues with the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA). He also represents clients with respect to industry-specific federal certification and regulatory requirements, such as those imposed by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) and the FDA, and with regard to evolving telemedicine and related interstate practice rules and policies.
