Richard E. Fox counsels corporations, banks and other business entities in a variety of corporate finance and business-related transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, mergers, recapitalizations, corporate debt offerings, venture capital, New Markets Tax Credits, and related debt financings, and equity transactions. He serves as bond counsel, borrower's counsel, underwriter's counsel, and issuer's counsel in taxable and tax-exempt bond and note issues for public and private issuers.
Richard is a member of the Allen County Bar Association, the Indiana State Bar Association, and the National Association of Bond Lawyers. He serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees at the University of Saint Francis and is a member of the board of directors at Turnstone Center for Children & Adults with Disabilities, Inc. He has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® publication since 2015 and is an AV® Preeminent™ rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell based on their peer review ratings. He was selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® 2017 as “Lawyer of the Year,” Fort Wayne, in the area of Corporate Law and in The Best Lawyers in America® 2019 as “Lawyer of the Year,” Fort Wayne, in the area of Banking and Finance Law.
He received his B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University in 1970 and his J.D., cum laude, from Indiana University School of Law, Bloomington, in 1973 where he served as a Note Editor for the Indiana Law Journal. He is admitted to practice before the Indiana state courts, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
