Rebecca Finkel focuses her practice on complex civil litigation and white-collar criminal defense. She has worked on significant matters involving contract disputes, trusts and estates controversies, Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) litigation, tax controversies and internal government investigations.
Rebecca has a range of litigation experience in both federal and state court including pre-filing investigation and case assessment, fact and expert discovery, legal research, motion practice, trial preparation, trial and appeals. Rebecca also has an active pro bono practice, including having second-chaired an evidentiary hearing in a post-conviction actual innocence case.
Rebecca served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Rebecca R. Pallmeyer of the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and for the Honorable Virginia M. Kendall, US District Court Judge for the Northern District of Illinois. While in law school, Rebecca was a student attorney in the Federal Rights Clinic, a member of the Trial Team and she also served as the chief justice of the Moot Court Board.
