Rachel Highsmith is a family law attorney based in JHC’s Overland Park office. She counsels and advocates for clients in matters involving divorce, paternity, child custody, child support, guardianship, and grandparent rights.
Rachel’s passion for family law practice developed in high school, when she interned at a family law firm and witnessed the positive impact an attorney can make in the lives of others. This inspired Rachel to pursue a career where she could meaningfully address people’s needs and provide compassionate services for children and families.
With an unshakeable drive to help others, Rachel is highly service-oriented. She wants her clients to feel seen, heard, and protected. In every case, she helps her clients identify solid objectives and tailor makes a case plan to achieve them.
One of JHC’s standout summer associates, the firm was delighted to welcome Rachel to a part-time position during her final year at the University of Kansas School of Law and a full-time position upon her graduation. Having spent more than a year under the tutelage of JHC’s accomplished family law practitioners before her admission to practice, Rachel had a head start on her competition. And she has taken off running.
