As an environmental and natural resources lawyer, Peter is committed to helping clients secure both certainty and fairness within the regulatory context. His practice places a strong emphasis on western water law and he represents clients in a variety of matters, including the clean water act. He has represented clients within many different jurisdictions during his career as a water lawyer. Peter also does work in energy law, which primarily intersects with his water law practice and focuses on hydro power.
As a water law attorney, Peter has worked in Water Rights (state law), Water Quality (state/federal), and Water Resources Development (state/federal). He has dealt with many different jurisdictions throughout the western United States. He provides a high level of expertise in state and federal law to both public and private clients and applies his breadth of experience to effectively counsel his clients in any number of water law issues.
Parallel to his water law practice, Peter also works on wetlands and drainage matters, frequently addressing state and federal water quality under the Clean Water Act (CWA) and related fish and wildlife mitigation requirements, permitting, and compliance under the Endangered Species Act (ESA).
