Michael A. McCabe is a member of MWM’s executive committee. In April 2021, McCabe was the lead attorney on a trial team that won an $86 million jury verdict on behalf of long-time firm client AMS Sensors (AMS Sensors USA Inc. v. Renesas Electronics America Inc.). He continues to serve as lead counsel in this dispute that has been in litigation since 2008.
In 2016, McCabe persuaded the Texas Supreme Court to reverse two lower courts’ decisions and dismiss a defamation lawsuit brought against a television station and three of its reporters. In addition to relieving the clients of any liability, the decision clarified the legal protections afforded to media defendants when reporting on matters of public concern.
Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Labor and Employment Law, Michael consistently receives accolades for his leadership, teamwork, and unremitting passion for winning. He has obtained numerous court-ordered restraining orders and injunctions on behalf of clients who required immediate and decisive results when confidential business information and trade secrets were at risk of exploitation by competitors and former employees.
Upon graduating with honors from law school, Michael clerked for Federal District Judge John H. McBryde in Fort Worth, Texas.
