Mia Farber is a Shareholder in the Los Angeles, California office of Jackson Lewis P.C. She serves on the firm's Management Committee and is the Coordinator of the firm's Southwest Regional offices.
Ms. Farber has extensive experience in all facets of employment litigation. At Jackson Lewis, she has represented employers in all types of employment litigation, including sexual harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful termination. Ms. Farber also has vast experience in the area of wage and hour class actions. Ms. Farber has defended a significant number wage and hour class actions over the last several years. Additionally, she provides advice and counsel, conducts training seminars on a myriad of topics all related to employment issues and frequently speaks on employment law issues.
Ms. Farber has tried numerous cases. She also has extensive experience arbitrating employment disputes pursuant to employment arbitration agreements and collective bargaining agreements as well as defending employers in judicial arbitrations. She also regularly handles both judicial and private employment dispute meditations on behalf of employers.
She is a member of the California Bar and regularly practices before state and federal courts, state and federal agencies and arbitration tribunals. She has been listed as one of the Top Labor and Employment Attorneys in California by the Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journal in 2011 and has been recognized as a Southern California Super Lawyer® (2012 - 2013) and The Best Lawyers in America® in the area of class actions (2013-2014). Ms. Farber was ranked among the Best Attorneys In Los Angeles according to Best Lawyers®, January 2013 and listed in Los Angeles Magazine’s Top 50 Women Attorneys In Southern California (2013).
Ms. Farber received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Pitzer College in 1984 and her Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School in 1987.
