Representing companies in federal courts across the country and before the ITC, Federal Circuit and PTAB, Matthew enforces and defends his clients' IP rights, particularly patents, and in the chemical, biological and pharmaceutical industries.
While Matthew has litigated a wide variety of technologies, he focuses on the chemical and biological arts, especially cases related to vaccines and pharmaceutical products. Matthew is also a member of the firm’s COVID-19 Response & Relief Team and has presented on COVID-19-related IP issues.
Matthew has represented clients in federal and state courts across the country, in arbitration, and before the International Trade Commission, Federal Circuit, and Patent Trial and Appeals Board. He has significant experience with both enforcing and defending his clients’ intellectual property rights through trial and on appeal.
Matthew also has a robust pro bono practice. He received the 2020 IP Community Service Award from the Georgia Intellectual Property Alliance, and serves on the firm’s Pro Bono Committee, as well as the boards of Georgia Lawyers for the Arts and the Georgia Legal Services Program.
