Mark B. Hillis concentrates his practice in the areas of banking and commercial finance, closely held businesses and commercial real estate. He joined the firm in early 2005, after practicing law with Bryan Cave LLP for 25 years.
Mark has extensive experience in representing banks and other financial institutions, closely held businesses, commercial real estate developers, and businesses with private equity needs. Recent representative engagements for clients include industrial and commercial mortgage financings, bank regulatory evaluations associated with new bank products, private equity investment and roll-up of real estate facilities, stock and asset purchase transactions, and real estate acquisitions, developments, leasing and sales.

He has been recognized by St. Louis Magazine as one of St. Louis' Best Lawyers and he is regularly selected as a Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyer.
Working with the young lawyers at Carmody MacDonald and as a former visiting assistant professor of law at Washington University School of Law, Mark has a strong commitment to mentoring young people. Mark is an active member of Junior Achievement (JA) of Mississippi Valley, Inc., as both a board member and volunteer teacher in the classrooms of schools across the St. Louis area.
Mark grew up in northern Indiana in the town of Logansport, where both his father and grandfather practiced law.
