Mark A Perkins
Perkins & Associates, L.L.C. is a regional defense firm serving all of North Louisiana and East Texas. The firm has earned the reputation as aggressive, well-prepared litigators.
The managing partner of the firm is Mark Perkins. Mark was born and reared in north Louisiana. He graduated magna cum laude with a degree in journalism. In 1987, he graduated from Paul M. Hebert Law School at LSU Baton Rouge and was admitted to the practice of law in 1987. He began his legal profession as an Assistant District Attorney, litigating hundreds of bench and jury trials. Before DNA evidence became common-place, Mark was the first to use DNA evidence in north Louisiana in the successful prosecution of a serial rapist.
After his tenure as a prosecutor, he became a shareholder of full-service law firm and was actively involved in the development of the insurance and employment defense sections. In 1998, Mark began his own private firm which focuses on the defense of commercial and trucking related matters. Mark is a member of the Shreveport Bar Association, and the American Bar Association (employment and litigation sections), Louisiana Bar Association (employment section), Defense Research Institute (trucking section), Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel, Trucking Insurance Defense Association, Transportation Lawyers Association, and the Louisiana Motor Transit Association. He is admitted to practice in both Louisiana and Texas.
Mark has conducted numerous training seminars for small businesses, industrial relation associations and human resource managers. He has also defended many complex litigation claims, particularly trucking related claims.
