Marjorie Soto’s employment practice covers single-plaintiff and wage and hour class litigation. She defends employers in lawsuits alleging wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour violations. Marjorie has specialized experience working with clients in the food service, retail, materials science & engineering, staffing, and entertainment industries. She also has experience in traditional labor and pay equity best practices.
Marjorie is skilled in drafting a variety of motion papers, demurrers, petitions to compel arbitration, and other critical employment litigation briefs. She also regularly represents clients on a pro bono basis, including adoption, conservatorship and immigration matters.
While in law school, Marjorie was Associate Editor for the UCLA Law Review. She also externed for Senior Judge Ronald S.W. Lew of the United States District Court for the Central District of California.
Before law school, she recruited students of diverse backgrounds nationally and internationally for various Ivy League and other top-tier colleges and universities by forging relationships with stakeholders and marketing the university brands. She also led small/corporate and major gift fundraising and donor stewardship efforts, receiving a certification from The Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University.
She is certified in community organizing and the evidence-based Strategic Prevention Framework by the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America.
