Lydia R.B. Kelley advises multinational and domestic entities—including public and closely held businesses—on federal income tax matters, primarily in the transactional area. She has extensive experience in the supervision of sophisticated tax due diligence for acquisitions of stock and assets in a variety of industries, including energy, manufacturing and transportation. In addition, she has advised on various credit union matters.
Lydia has lectured on developments in federal income, estate and gift, and employee benefits taxation at the annual Federal Tax Institute for many years. She has also lectured on issues relating to captive insurance structures. Lydia is the author of several articles on federal and state tax issues associated with drafting covenants not to compete.
Lydia is Operations Partner for the Firm’s Chicago office. She has previously served as a partner-in-charge of the Firm’s Chicago Office and former co-chair of McDermott’s Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives, and as a past national hiring partner.
