Mr. Wulfmeier is a partner in our Litigation Group with over 35 years of experience defending health care providers in complex medical malpractice cases; representing both husbands and wives in acrimonious marital, custody and property disputes; and representing plaintiffs and defendants in personal injury cases arising out of catastrophic injuries involving industrial machinery, automobiles and motorcycles.
Mr. Wulfmeier has acted as chief trial counsel in over 400 medical malpractice cases. He has represented physicians in all specialties as well as dentists, nurses and hospitals in a variety of malpractice and disciplinary proceedings. He has also provided counsel for prominent pharmaceutical manufacturers in product liability cases.
With more than 75 successful defense jury verdicts under his supervision, Mr. Wulfmeier has served as a special mediator and arbitrator in serious injury malpractice and personal injury cases. He is a frequent lecturer at hospitals and medical schools and has participated in various symposiums for the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Mr. Wulfmeier has secured multi million dollar settlements on behalf of severely injured clients, resolved most matrimonial cases before trial, but litigated those matrimonial cases that were impossible to resolve except by a court of law.
Prior to joining Giarmarco, Mullins & Horton f/k/a Cox, Hodgman & Giarmarco, Mr. Wulfmeier formed Wulfmeier & Ottenwess, PLC after having been a partner in the Detroit law firm of Schureman, Frakes, Glass & Wulfmeier, PLLC for over 22 years. He began his career as an associate with the then oldest Michigan law firm, Moll, Desenberg, Purdy, Glover & Bayer.
