Larry began his legal career as a litigation attorney working on complex litigation cases and has narrowed his practice to only represent family law clients. While practicing in Chicago and before becoming a partner at Jaburg|Wilk, he worked with one of the largest law firms in the nation that was exclusive to family law representation. Larry has regularly worked on several high profile celebrity dissolutions and cases with multi-millions at stake.
Dissolution matters and post-decree proceedings are both in Larry’s area of expertise. While he can assist with complicated business valuations and divorces with substantial assets, he also helps clients with smaller estates though the divorce maze. “Divorce is an emotional roller coaster and my clients need me to be tough. They know I am going to be tough with their spouse’s attorney, but they can also expect me to be tough with them. I advise them in a manner which best preserves their rightful portion of the marital community.” – Larry Hirsch
His experience spans from pre-nuptial agreement and co-habitation agreements to post-nuptial agreements; from spousal maintenance negotiations to child custody and visitation; from complicated tax issues to dissolution of assets; from child support modifications to paternity. In family law representation, there is much to be said about the art of negotiation as many family issues are resolved through negotiation and mediation. Larry is skilled at both and teaches negotiation seminars.
He is active in family law organizations as a member of the Arizona State Bar, Family Law Section and Young Lawyers Division member as well as being the Vice President of Maricopa County Bar Association, Family Law Section. He is also active in the Greater Valley of the Sun community as Chairman of Young Jewish Phoenix and having served on the executive committee of Phoenix Human Rights Campaign. Larry’s commitment to family law is evidenced in by his speaking and writing – author of two chapters in West Domestic Relations Arizona Legal Forms publication and an article in Chicago Daily Law Bulletin regarding child support arrearages – and participant in Channel 12 Lawyers on Call – Family Law segments. He delivers lectures to attorneys on how to sharpen their negotiation skills.
