Ken Van Winkle is Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie's Managing Partner. He is a member of the firm's Real Estate Transactional Group and focuses his practice on real estate leasing; real estate equity and debt financing; and real estate sales and acquisitions.
Ken has represented both borrowers and lenders in a variety of real estate finance transactions, including mortgage based lending transactions, equity joint venture financing transactions, franchise lending transactions, sales/leaseback transactions and leasehold mortgage transactions. Most of his work involves representation of bank clients, insurance companies and REIT’S. His experience covers the broad spectrum of real estate financing transactions, including extensive work with real estate development joint ventures.
Ken has represented many institutional clients in acquiring and disposing of developed and undeveloped multifamily residential, single family residential, commercial, retail and industrial real estate. He has experience handling the joint venture and purchase and sale of multifamily products, retail centers, office complexes, industrial buildings and residential land developments. The representation has included the negotiating and drafting of contracts, coordinating due diligence and closing the transaction.
In the area of Real Estate leasing, Ken represents several restaurant chains in connection with their leasing agreements, licensure issues and disputes on a local, regional and national scale. Current and prior restaurant clients include P.F. Chang's China Bistro, Pei Wei Asian Diner, Paul Martin's American Grill, Wildfish and Eddie V's, Z'Tejas and Peter Piper Pizza. His experience has provided extensive exposure to the requirements and posture of many local, regional and national retail landlords. He also has extensive experience representing tenants in leasing office, manufacturing and industrial space, nationally.
