Katie Bukrinsky focuses her practice on intellectual property litigation. She regularly represents plaintiffs and defendants in federal court in all types of Lanham Act disputes, including trademark and trade dress infringement, false advertising and cyberpiracy. She practices before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, as well as before arbitration forums under the Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy. Katie also counsels clients on acquisition and clearance of trademarks.
Katie has a robust pro bono practice and has successfully represented clients in a variety of matters, including asylum, human trafficking, child custody and intellectual property. She practices before administrative tribunals and state and federal district and appellate courts on behalf of her clients. She also serves as a member of the McDermott’s Pro Bono Committee. In 2014, the Firm recognized Katie for her commitment to pro bono, for her successful representation of an asylum client before the US Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
Previously, Katie served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable John R. Fisher of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. Katie currently teaches an advanced writing course to members of The George Washington University Law School Law Review.
