Kathleen Quiroz's practice focuses on the regulatory aspects of health care law, including HIPAA Privacy and Security; state and federal fraud and abuse, illegal remuneration, self-referral, and civil monetary penalties law; credentialing; Medicare billing, reimbursement, and Conditions of Participation; state licensure laws; and state regulation of certified non-profit health organizations. She also counsels hospitals, physicians and other health care providers in connection with investigations conducted by peer review committees and licensing boards such as the Texas Medical Board.
Kathleen's practice is also focused on the business aspects of health care law for physicians, physician groups, and hospitals. She works with health care providers and facilities on business and operational issues throughout the life cycle of the business often from formation through retirement or the sale of the business. She negotiates employment contracts, independent contractor arrangements, physician recruitment agreements, and managed care contracts. She also counsels clients on practice breakups and departures of physicians and other practitioners.
