Ms. Bargnesi is a Senior Partner at Damon Morey in the Firm’s Litigation Department. Ms. Bargnesi is also a registered nurse. Ms. Bargnesi concentrates her practice in the area of health care law and medical malpractice and has an outstanding trial record.
Ms. Bargnesi is member of the Erie County, New York State and American Bar Associations. She is admitted to practice in New York State, as well as the United States Supreme Court.
Ms. Bargnesi served as the president of the American Association of Nurse Attorneys (TAANA). TAANA is a national organization with members who have degrees in both nursing and law. Ms. Bargnesi is also the President and founder of the Western New York Chapter of this Association. In addition, Ms. Bargnesi served as editor of “Inside TAANA” the national publication for The American Association of Nurse Attorneys.
Ms. Bargnesi is an Adjunct Professor at the State University of New York at Buffalo College of Nursing where she lectures on the legal aspects of nursing. She is also a frequent lecturer at hospitals and universities throughout the United States. In September 2012, Ms. Bargnesi published an article in DRI Magazine entitled Nursing Home Class Actions - A New Strain of "Super Suits". Ms. Bargnesi served as co-legal advisor to Advantage, a national nursing publication. She is also a former member of the Editorial Board for a National Nursing Publication entitled, Nursing Policy Forum. In October 2012, Ms. Bargnesi spoke at Defense Research Institutes (DRI) Annual Long Term Care Seminar on the topic of Arbitration Agreements in Nursing Home Admission Agreements.
Ms. Bargnesi is active in a number of charitable and civic organizations. She was appointed by United States Senator Charles Schumer to serve on his Judicial Screening Committee. She is also a former member of the New York State Judicial Screening Committee for the Fourth Judicial Department appointed by Former Governor Mario Cuomo. Ms. Bargnesi is also a former member of the Board of Managers of the Erie County Medical Center, St. Francis Geriatric and Health Care Center and Woman Care of Kenmore Mercy Hospital. She is a current member of the Sisters Hospital Foundation Board.
