Joshua Mermis’ focus is on litigation relating
to construction, energy, product liability and business law. He has extensive experience conducting both jury
and bench trials, as well as arbitrations.
His litigation experience is
broad, ranging from homeowner claims to multimillion dollar commercial projects
throughout Texas. Joshua represents
domestic and international companies including developers, general contractors,
subcontractors, product and equipment manufacturers, as well as independent
small and large business owners.
Outside of his litigation practice, Mr. Mermis
counsels clients on a wide range of general business issues, including but not
limited to contracts, leases, construction-related agreements, master service
agreements, liens, and employment issues.
Joshua is actively involved in the construction
industry and the community, and recently completed service as the 2016-2017 Chair
of the Houston Bar Association’s Construction Law Section. Joshua is also a member of the Claims and
Litigation Management Alliance and Economic Alliance for the Houston Port Region. He is a frequent speaker and author on a
variety of topics concerning the construction and energy industries.
