Joseph Williams provides legal counsel on capital markets, public company regulatory compliance, commercial transactions and general corporate matters. He has represented clients on issues involving public and private offerings of debt and equity securities, internal reorganizations, as well as mergers and acquisitions. in addition, Joseph advises clients on disclosure and procedural requirements of federal securities laws, including the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 and the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010.
Previously, Joseph worked in the Washington, DC, office of a large international law firm, where he regularly represented issuers in the formation of, and securities offerings by, business development companies. He also represented public companies and investment advisers on the structuring and formation of their businesses and in the development of new investment funds.
