Being both a pharmacist and attorney allows me to practice law in many different areas of healthcare. After becoming a registered pharmacist in Illinois I pursued a law degree during the evening at the John Marshall Law school. Upon graduation from law school I became a Prosecutor of health care providers for the State of Illinois Department of Professional Regulation. My governmental career also included time spent with the Illinois Department of Public Health in Pharmacy practice and also Emergency Preparedness. I have also been General Counsel for a large corporation which owned over 1800 chain pharmacies throughout the United States. Currently, I am a professor at three Colleges of Pharmacy in the Chicagoland area. My role of a professor is to educate pharmacy students on both federal and state pharmacy laws.
My legal area focuses on health care matters. I specialize in healthcare professional licensing issues relative to both federal and state regulatory agencies. Legal representation also includes representing physicians, pharmacist, nurses, physician assistants and entities in various healthcare regulatory matters. I have also provided legal representation of prescribers, pharmacists and entities to the Drug Enforcement Administration, Medicaid and Medicare and the Food and Drug Administration. Consultation is also a part of my practice whether it involves co-counsel in a health care related case, or as an expert witness.
