Jim Boness graduated with his law degree from Southern Illinois University School of Law in 2002 and later enhanced his legal knowledge by taking advanced intellectual property courses at the John Marshall School of Law. To help better serve his business client base, he earned his MBA from Portland State in 2020, where he took classes on negotiation tactics and business strategy.
Jim has previous experience as a criminal litigator, winning numerous cases for his clients. However, since 2016, has been practicing transactional business and intellectual property law with his firm Intellequity. During this time, Jim has helped numerous clients through many types of business and intellectual property issues, including business formation, business disputes, trademark and copyright registrations, as well as trademark and copyright infringement defense and prosecution. He also helps clients in reviewing, negotiating and drafting contracts and contract disputes.
In addition to his legal experience, he has been awarded The Max And Irene Dell'Era Academic Scholarship, held the position as President Of The Southern Illinois University Sports Law Society for both 2001 & 2002; and was a team leader for his MBA Capstone Project.
