Jim Miles, JD is a shareholder of the firm of Miles & Peters, PC. Mr. Miles specializes in the representation of health care professionals, organizations and business entities, emphasizing commercial transactions, government relations, regulatory compliance, and business planning. Mr. Miles also advocates for health care providers and health plans undergoing false claims investigations by the Office of Inspector General and State Medicaid Fraud Control Units. His clients include numerous health care providers, including assisted living facilities, community health centers, hospitals, nursing homes, physician practices, clinical diagnostic laboratories, durable medical equipment providers, and other health care providers.
Mr. Miles serves as associate general counsel to the Colorado Health Care Association, and general counsel to the Community Health Association of Mountain and Plains States, Colorado Community Health Network, Pueblo Healthcare, and other health care provider trade associations. He is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association Fraud & Abuse and Regulation, Accreditation and Payment Practice Groups, as well as the Hospitals & Health Systems Practice Group, Physician Organizations Practice Group, and Long Term Care, Senior Housing, In-Home Care, and Rehabilitation Practice Group, of which he served as the Vice Chair from 2004 to 2007. Mr. Miles served on the Tulane Alumni Admissions Committee as the Colorado Chairperson from 1996 to 1997. He is a frequent and respected speaker at many seminars sponsored by numerous health care organizations. He is also recognized as a “Rising Star” in the field of health law by Colorado Super Lawyers / 5280 Magazine.
