Irwin I. Gzesh has well over 30 years of extensive interdisciplinary experience incommercial real estate and corporate transactions, finance and business planning. His corporate experience includes mergers and acquisitions, joint venture formation, investment syndications, partnership dissolutions and secured lending. With respect to real estate transactions, Irwin has represented a broad spectrum of clients involved in all aspects of the development, acquisition, management, financing, workout restructuring, leasing and disposition of commercial, industrial and residential properties. These clients include financial
institutions, developers, investors, REITs, hoteliers, parking lot operators, gaming interests, and numerous publicly and privately held industrial, manufacturing and retailing concerns. His practice also includes the strategic disposition of substantial REO and portfolios of non-performing and sub-performing loans by open-outcry auction, sealed bid sales and internet auction sites. In that particular context, he has represented many sellers, purchasers and broker/auctioneers. Through his many years of transactional experience on behalf of financial institutions and many other sellers, along with his broad
representation of some of the pre-eminent brokers and auctioneers of real estate assets and loans in
America, Irwin has gained a multi-faceted perspective upon, and particular insight into, the legal,
practical and strategic business considerations attendant to the efficient disposition of all types of properties and loans.
Additionally, for many years, Irwin was previously identified by the Leading Lawyers Network as a “Leading Lawyer” in multiple practice areas including: Real Estate Finance, Mergers & Acquisitions and Closely and Privately Held Businesses. Similarly, he also was previously recognized by Illinois Super Lawyers as a Super Lawyer in each of the Real Estate, Securities & Corporate Finance and Business/Corporate fields. For the past several years, Irwin has been named to the International Who’s Who of Real Estate Lawyers.
Recognized for his broad-based business law background and depth of experience, Irwin also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Alliant Credit Union, the nation’s sixth largest credit union, where he chairs the Credit Committee of the Credit Union and is a member of the Executive Committee of its Board of Directors.
While in law school, Irwin served as an Editor for the Chicago-Kent Law Review.
