Mr. Roy practices in the areas of complex family law matters and business litigation. Prior to becoming a member of Cohen Clair Lans Greifer Thorpe & Rottenstreich LLP, Mr. Roy was a partner of Cohen Lans LLP.
Mr. Roy is a member of the New York City Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association (Section on Family Law; Committee on Legislation); the American Bar Association (Family Law Section); and New York County Lawyers’ Association (Matrimonial Law Section). He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and served on the Board of Managers of the New York Chapter of the American Academy from 2010 through 2011. Mr. Roy has lectured on various topics in his areas of expertise. Mr. Roy is listed in Best Lawyers in America, Best Lawyers in New York and Super Lawyers. He is admitted to practice in both New York and Massachusetts.
Mr. Roy is a graduate of Queens College of the City University of New York (B.A., 1965) and George Washington University Law School (J.D., With Honors, 1968), where he was an editor of the George Washington Law Review and a member of the Order of the Coif. Mr. Roy served as a Lieutenant, and Trial and Defense Counsel, and Military Judge in the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps. Mr. Roy lives with his wife in Westchester County, New York.
