Howard is a former advisory Board Member of the Health Information Management Systems Society (“HIMSS”) (the health information technology association); and the founder and organizer of the HIMSS/HIT Venture+ and business building programs.
He has been appointed as the only independent lawyer on the bipartisan Pennsylvania Joint Legislative Committee on Health Reform. He served in the same capacity for the National Governor’s Association e-Health Alliance. He served on the editorial boards of the BNA Health Law Reporter, Lexis/Nexis Health, and the Journal of Health and Life Sciences law.
Howard Burde is a prolific author of four books on health law topics, the most recent of which was translated and published in Japanese and Korean, and speaks around the country on health care opportunities under the PPACA, health and privacy and security law.
Howard has been named to Best Lawyers in America, and a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer. Howard is a Board Member of the Center for Autism, the Pennsylvania Academy of Ballet and the Lower Merion Soccer Club. He resides in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania with his wife and three children.
