Hawley’s practice focuses on representing real estate investors and developers in the acquisition and development of residential and mixed-use commercial properties—both regionally and nationally. He regularly provides guidance and assistance at all key points in commercial real estate transactions, from project financing to leasing. Hawley’s knowledge of state and local laws and ordinances and his detail-oriented approach help to facilitate deals that are streamlined and smooth for his clients. As general counsel to his commercial real estate clients, Hawley provides guidance on transactional matters, financing issues, corporate organizational documents, and title review and analysis.
Additionally, Hawley has significant experience serving as counsel to regional and national landlords, working closely with them on strategic growth initiatives in Maine and beyond. He also regularly advises them in the negotiation of complex retail, office, industrial and other commercial leases.
