Erica L. Gnilka provides counsel to health systems, physician groups and other health care providers on complex regulatory issues. Erica’s practice includes advising clients on issues related to federal and state health care program enrollment and reimbursement, as well as fraud and abuse issues arising under the Stark Law, the Anti-Kickback Statute and accompanying state statutes.
Erica also assists in health care-related transactional work, including performing in-depth review of provider operations as part of large, multi-state transactions in the private equity and not-for-profit sectors. She has particular experience with health system contracting matters, provider licensure and accreditation, and multi-state change of ownership filings.
In law school, Erica served as a law clerk with a large Catholic health system in Chicago, assisting with key transactions. She also served as a senior editor and journal member for Annals of Health Law leading to an article published in Advanced Directive. Erica also participated in the L. Edward Bryant, Jr. National Health Law Transactional Moot Court Competition, her team won first place in both the presentation and written memorandum rounds.
