Ed West has a breadth of experience in the areas of white-collar criminal, civil, and administrative law. An experienced advocate in both state and federal courts, he also routinely handles matters involving federal and state agencies and licensing boards. In addition to his experience in private practice, Ed served almost two years as chief operating officer and general counsel for a small government contractor.
Ed represents businesses and individuals under investigation for or charged with violating criminal laws. He has handled criminal and regulatory matters before a myriad of federal and state agencies, including the IRS, FBI, EPA, US Department of Homeland Security, and NC Department of Revenue, among others. Ed also represents businesses in a wide range of litigation matters in state and federal courts.
Ed is also skilled in data security and privacy issues. He advises clients on data breach responses and has particular experience counseling professional practices, including law firms, in this area.
