Cary has extensive experience in both prosecution and litigation of intellectual property (IP) matters. He worked for 16 years as a patent attorney for General Motors Corporation, where his responsibilities included patent preparation and prosecution, infringement opinions, licensing, acquisitions and divestitures, and major litigation. Cary was also Patent Counsel at BASF Corporation. He has substantial experience in the chemical, mechanical, and software/electrical arts.
Cary served as an instructor for four and a half years for a nationally renowned seminar, teaching his peers techniques and strategies for crafting and drafting winning patents. He has been a serious student of the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit throughout his career and uses his knowledge gained thereby to not only provide exceptional service to clients, but also to provide seminars on a variety of select audiences, including corporations, general practice firms, CPA firms, business and professional groups, and foreign associates.
Cary was voted numerous times by his peers as one of the top lawyers in IP law in the Metro Detroit Area and in America.
