Bruce has been with Bennett Bigelow & Leedom since 1999. In 2016, he became the firm’s Co-Managing Director, and in 2018, he became the firm’s President & Managing Director. Bruce’s practice focuses on a number of areas involving the representation of health care providers, including physicians, hospitals, multi-specialty clinics, academic medical centers, nurses, therapists, and other health care providers in professional liability/medical negligence litigation in both civil courts and at arbitration. He also represents health care professionals in licensing and disciplinary actions involving the Washington State Department of Health, Medical Quality Assurance Commission and hospitals in privileging and medical staff matters. Bruce provides advice and guidance to hospitals and medical centers regarding their Bylaws and Fair Hearing Plans.
Bruce is licensed to practice law in Washington and Oregon. His experience includes civil jury trials, administrative agency proceedings, and hospital medical staff proceedings. Before he joined Bennett Bigelow and Leedom, Bruce clerked for the Honorable Charles Mertel of the King County Superior Court.
Bruce graduated from the Gonzaga University School of Law magna cum laude. He is a member of the Washington State Society of Healthcare Attorneys, the Defense Research Institute, and the American Bar Association. In 2017, he was accepted into the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). Bruce has consistently been named a Washington Super Lawyer since 2013 and was named a Best Lawyer in America in 2020 in the Medical Malpractice Law – Defendants section.
