Austin K. Wolf is the co-founder of Cohen and Wolf and a principal in the firm's Real Estate and Land Use & Zoning Groups. Resident in the Bridgeport office, Mr. Wolf practices in the areas of land use planning, zoning, wetlands, real estate development, and industrial and commercial leasing.
Mr. Wolf is admitted to practice in Connecticut; the U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut; and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Second Circuit. Mr. Wolf is a member of the American, Connecticut and Greater Bridgeport Bar Associations. He is a member and past chairman of the Planning and Zoning Executive Committee of the Connecticut Bar Association, and served on the Connecticut Bar Association House of Delegates. He is a member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, and past member and officer of the American Inns of Court, Bridgeport. He serves as an attorney trial referee (since 1983). He served on the Board of Editors of the Connecticut Bar Journal and the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Bar Foundation.
Mr. Wolf recently was honored with the first-ever Lifetime Achievement Award by the Connecticut Bar Association's Planning & Zoning Section. The award was given "in recognition of longstanding distinguished service as a planning and zoning lawyer, to clients, to the profession, to the community, to strong ethical practices and to the advancement of knowledge, to writing, lecturing and similar pursuits". In 2008, he received the Career Service Award from the Greater Bridgeport Bar Association. Mr. Wolf has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America© since 1987 for Land Use & Zoning and Real Estate Law, was selected as one of Best Lawyers in America "Lawyer of the Year" (2009 and 2013 editions) in the area of Real Estate for the Stamford, CT Metropolitan Region. He is also recognized by Connecticut Super Lawyers (2006-2009, 2011-2016) for his work in the area of Land Use/Zoning. Mr. Wolf frequently speaks on real estate and land use related topics to both legal and business audiences.
Mr. Wolf received his B.A. in 1948 from Yale University and LL.B., cum laude, in 1951 from Harvard Law School. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1941 to 1945.
