Since joining Dunn Carney in 1968, Tom Tongue has played an integral role in the firm. He has served terms as managing partner and leader of the Litigation Team, and as a mentor to many of the firm’s attorneys. His practice has centered on complex civil litigation and health law.
A highly respected fourth generation Oregon attorney, Tom represents the highest level of skill and professionalism in the practice of law. He has received the Multnomah Bar Association and the Oregon State Bar Litigation Section Owen Panner Professionalism Awards. In 2011-12, he was President of the American College of Trial Lawyers, the most distinguished group of trial lawyers in America and Canada. He was elected a Fellow in the ACTL in 1993. As recipient of the 2011 Judge Learned Hand Award, he was recognized for representing the same values as Judge Hand: upholding the rights of the individual and the importance of democratic values in an orderly society.
