After graduating in 1979 from Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Hebert Law
Center, Mr. Womack won judicial clerkships in the Louisiana State
District and Appellate Courts. Afterwards, in 1984, he began private
practice with Durrett, Hardin, Hunter, Dameron & Fritchie, working
under Roger M. Fritchie, one of the premier trial lawyers in
Louisiana. While working for Roger Fritchie, Mr. Womack began
representing hospitals and physicians, defending medical malpractice,
general liability, and medical staffing cases.
Upon the death
of Mr. Fritchie, Mr. Womack moved his practice to Taylor Porter, where
he is a partner. At Taylor Porter, Mr. Womack has continued the
representation of hospitals and physicians, but additionally, has
expanded his practice into the areas of toxic tort and environmental
regulatory work.
Mr. Womack currently serves as a director for the Louisiana Association
of Defense Counsel. He is a member of the Louisiana and Baton Rouge Bar
Associations and the Defense Research Institute.
Mr. Womack is ranked by his peers in the Best Lawyers in America® in Commercial Litigation. ?In 2017, Mr. Womack received the "Pro Bono
Publico Award" from the Louisiana State Bar Association for his
outstanding commitment to pro bono service and volunteerism. Mr. Womack
also is a 2011 recipient of the Century Club Award for donating over 100
hours of legal services to the Pro Bono Project, and the 2012 recipient
of the Leah Hipple McKay Memorial Award for Outstanding Volunteerism.
