Steve advises on the laws and regulations that permeate labor and employment practices, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and federal and California Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN), among others.
Steve consistently delivers practical solutions that help clients to cultivate, rather than disrupt, constructive employee relations. A traditional labor lawyer, Steve works diligently with non-union clients to remain union free, as well as assists unionized workforces to manage their operations as efficiently as possible. He advises on union elections and representation proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), labor agreements, grievances and arbitration, decertification proceedings and strikes, lockouts and picketing.
Notably, Steve brings years of experience as an attorney with Region 21 of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) to his practice. While at the NLRB, Steve investigated unfair labor practices, litigated unfair labor practice complaints, conducted union representation elections, and presided over NLRB proceedings as a hearing officer.
