Stephen Siegel dedicates his practice to helping clients (primarily in the healthcare industry) achieve their goals while minimizing the associated business and legal risks. In addition to private practice, Mr. Siegel’s experience includes working in the Federal healthcare programs and working for a provider of support services to skilled nursing facilities. Since 1995, the Florida Bar has recognized Mr. Siegel as Board Certified in Health Law. As part of the preparation for the Florida Health Law Certification examination, he has made presentations concerning the Florida and federal illegal remuneration/kickback, physician self- referral and Civil False Claims Act provisions, as well as contracting issues unique to this industry and jurisdiction almost every year since 1995.He also is certified in Healthcare Compliance and Healthcare Privacy Compliance, CHC and CHPC, respectively, by the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA). Mr. Siegel’s clients include individual physicians, group practices, ambulatory surgical centers, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, home health agencies, hospices, hospitals, clinical laboratories, pharmacies, pharmaceutical wholesalers, and other parties.He has spoken and published extensively on health law issues including HIPAA and FIPA breach requirements, medical marijuana in Florida, Florida and federal physician self-referral and kickback prohibitions, health care fraud, compliance, and physician fee splitting. He has made presentations to various groups including CPAs, members of The Florida Bar, the Health Care Compliance Association, the American Health Law Association, the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the South Florida Hospital and Healthcare Association, and the Miami-Dade Medical Association.
