Mr. Welch provides effective counsel to clients in energy and natural resources litigation. He serves as lead counsel in multi-week trials and appeals involving oil, gas and mining development and public lands management. He represents clients in federal and state courts in Utah and Wyoming, and is admitted to appear in the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and the District of Colombia Circuit. He also represents clients before the Interior Board of Land Appeals and state regulatory agencies.
Mr. Welch has extensive experience in litigating quiet title suits, farmout agreements, working interest and royalty disputes, and condemnation and surface access disputes. He regularly represents clients in oil and gas exploration and development projects, lease protests, and public lands litigation involving NEPA, FLPMA, and environmental law.
