Mr. Joslyn is the founding member of the St. Clair Shores law firm of Joslyn & Vernon, P.C. and is a graduate of Emory University Law School. He has actively practiced law for more than 40 years, with his principal areas of concentration in:
Administration of Estates, Trusts, and Foundations,
Taxation of Individuals, Trusts, Estates, and Foundations,
Wealth Planning for Individuals and Their Entities, and
Gift, Estate, and Generation-Skipping Transfer Taxation.
Mr. Joslyn has had extensive experience acting as a trustee of 100's of trusts and estates for the past 35 years. The estates and trusts ranged in size of up to $100,000,000, the assets of which included insurance, securities, all forms of closely held business interests, domestic and foreign real estate, oil and gas interests, most kinds of personal property (airplanes, gun and art collections, animals and livestock, yachts, etc.), and claims by and against third parties. He has also acted as an expert witness in numerous arbitration and court cases.
Mr. Joslyn has addressed many estate planning councils and lectured extensively for the University of Michigan's Institute of Continuing Legal Education, the State Bar of Michigan, the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, and other professional organizations. He also has authored many publications and served in numerous leadership positions of several local, state, and national professional organizations.
