Mr. Meynardie is a trial lawyer with more than twenty-nine years experience, including trials in a wide range of commercial and construction cases in federal and state court and in arbitration.
In his commercial practice, Mr. Meynardie's experience has included defending and enforcing breaches of contract, business ownership disputes, minority shareholders' rights, claims of fraud and misrepresentation, unfair or deceptive trade practices, the protection of trade secrets, and enforcement of convenants not to compete, among others.
Mr. Meynardie's construction related work includes both litigation and contract drafting. Litigation experience includes claims based upon defective construction or materials and complex claims related to schedule delays, differing site conditions, and contract scope.
Mr. Meynardie has drafted and negotiated both design and construction contracts, including Design-Build and Construction Management at Risk contracts based upon the AGC's ConsensusDOCS and the AIA form contracts. A significant portion of his construction contracts work has been on behalf of local governments or related to public construction projects. Mr. Meynardie is committed to helping clients with "green" projects. He is accredited as a LEED® Accredited Professional and is the author of the Green/Sustainable Construction Chapter and the State Construction Chapter of the NC Construction Law Deskbook.
Mr. Meynardie has been a certified mediator since 1999 and has served as a neutral in more than 300 civil cases. He is also a member of the American Arbitration Association's Mediation and Arbitration Panels for both Commercial and Construction disputes.
