Richard L. Steer is a partner in Tarter Krinsky & Drogin’s Labor and Employment Group. Rich defends and counsels employers, insurance companies, and their policyholders in employment discrimination, labor and housing discrimination disputes. With his depth and breadth of experience, he helps clients make informed and practical business decisions.
Rich has acted as trial counsel in significant employment discrimination cases for Fortune 500 companies and public sector jurisdictions. He also assists staffing companies, retailers, and hospitality services clients to address COVID-19 related labor and employment issues and compliance concerns.
Rich provides risk management training programs to clients and trade associations, focusing on non-discrimination and sexual harassment, wage and hour, public works/prevailing wages and EPLI issues. He collaborates with clients to tailor training programs to their specific needs and address new developments in the law.
Since 1984, Rich has been an adjunct professor of law at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University, teaching employment law and employment discrimination law. Rich has also been recognized in New York City Super Lawyers (2010-2019), The Best Lawyers in America, 2014–2021, Marquis Who's Who in America, 2004 and 2021 Editions and Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award 2020.
