Miriam J. McKendall is co-chair of the Education Team and concentrates her practice in employment law, education law and related litigation. She provides counseling to clients in employment related issues, such as investigation and defense of sexual harassment and discrimination claims; development of disability and reasonable accommodations policies and procedures; wage and hour compliance and defense of audits and claims; defense of claims pending at the MCAD, EEOC, DOL, OCR, DOE, and state and federal courts; OSHA compliance and litigation; negotiation and preparation of employment agreements and severance agreements; the development of workplace policies and preventative strategies for containment of potential employee claims; and training of managers and administrators. She also provides counseling to clients in matters related to higher education, including student discipline and disability, campus security and crisis management, faculty governance issues, and regulatory compliance.
Ms. McKendall is the chair of the OSHA, Workplace Safety and Whistleblower Claims Team at Holland & Knight. She completed the Occupational Safety and Health Act Forty Hour Training Course (OSHA 500) taught by the United States Department of Labor in 1994, and is a panelist on OSHA Thirty Hour Training Programs.
Ms. McKendall frequently presents on employment compliance, student and academic matters, policy development, and compliance issues.
