Michael J. Hurwitz has been a valued member of the legal team at Block O’Toole & Murphy since 2013. Currently serving as Partner for the firm, his extensive experience as a trial attorney has prepared him to handle a wide variety of personal injury cases including personal injury, labor law and construction accidents, medical malpractice, motor vehicle accidents and wrongful death.
Mr. Hurwitz attended Northeastern University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. After college, he earned his Juris Doctor from St. John’s University School of Law. Mr. Hurwitz has spent all his 20-plus years in practice representing injured victims. He has earned respect in the legal community for his dedication and commitment to his clients and their needs. Over the past years, Mr. Hurwitz has successfully recovered millions of dollars for his clients. Some of his most notable case results include an $11,000,000 settlement for a baby who sustained brain damage following improper care immediately after birth, a $6,660,000 verdict for a student badly injured by an oxy-acetylene torch in the school’s art studio and a $4,600,000 settlement for a driver who was struck by a vehicle that failed to yield the right-of-way resulting in neck and lower back injuries.
Mr. Hurwitz is a part of multiple professional associations and memberships, including the New York State Trial Association and American Association for Justice. He has also been named one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers by The National Trial Lawyers organization and has been a Super Lawyer since 2015.
