Michael Hacker focuses his practice on domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions, recapitalization, joint ventures and the related financings required to fund such transactions, primarily representing private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies. Michael also provides general corporate counseling to portfolio companies and other clients.
Michael is appointed as an attorney ad litem by Lawyers for Children America to represent a foster youth. Michael also serves on McDermott’s Technology Advisory Board.
Michael earned his Juris Doctor degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Florida where he also served as the executive communications editor of the Florida Law Review. Michael was also on the executive committee of the Bennett Inn of Court. Before practicing at McDermott, Michael was a Summer Honors Intern for the US Securities and Exchange Commission. Michael also earned his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Florida and is a member of the Florida Blue Key Leadership Honorary.
