Ms. Orman is a Director of the firm. She focuses her practice in the areas of real estate law, business structure and operations, and commercial transactions. She has assisted in the representation of clients in real estate acquisitions and sales, as well as in connection with entity formation, sale of entity assets, and stock restructuring and refinancing.Ms. Orman is selected to the 2018 Hawaii Super Lawyers, "Rising Star" List in the practice area of Real Estate Law.Since joining Starn O’Toole Marcus & Fisher, Ms. Orman has also worked on the litigation team, assisting in the representation of publicly traded and other corporate entities, hotels, Hawaii and national financial institutions, and individual clients in complex commercial litigation, construction and real estate development disputes, fraud and deceptive practices claims, and rent renegotiation matters. Ms. Orman is admitted to practice in all Hawaii state courts, the United States District Court for the District of Hawaii, and the Ninth Circuit.Before joining Starn O’Toole Marcus & Fisher, Ms. Orman served as a law clerk to Chief Judge Emily Hewitt in the United States Court of Federal Claims in Washington, DC, where she worked on cases involving such areas of law as the court’s jurisdiction pursuant to the Tucker Act, government contracts, procurement, tax refunds, Fifth Amendment takings, military pay, discovery issues, and issues related to pro se plaintiffs.Prior to law school, Ms. Orman worked as a book editor at Random House, Inc. in New York City, where she acquired and edited books for both the Crown and Three Rivers Press imprints.
