Stoel Rives LLP
As a leader and a lawyer, Krista McIntyre routinely asks, “how can I help?” Actively listening to clients and colleagues, Krista seeks to understand others’ motivations and goals and works to remove obstacles or to summon the right resources for the desired outcome. Krista is considered among the region’s leading environmental lawyers because she is responsive to clients, knows how government agencies work, and she gets results.
Krista focuses her law practice on enforcement defense and permitting under the Clean Air Act (CAA), regularly defending clients in EPA and state enforcement actions involving alleged violations of CAA programs, such as the permitting requirements under new source review (NSR), prevention of significant deterioration (PSD), Title V, plus New Source Performance Standards (NSPS) and National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP). She participates in state rule development and contested case proceedings before the Board of the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality.
Clients call on Krista in other compliance areas, too, such as EPCRA reporting, CWA reporting, and agency enforcement under those statutes. She counsels clients in the development of corporate environmental management systems, participates in multimedia environmental compliance assessments, and provides customized training to engineers, operators, and management on CAA permitting, compliance, and enforcement.
Before joining Stoel Rives, Krista was an attorney/advisor at EPA and a special trial attorney at DOJ. These experiences make Krista an effective enforcement defense lawyer and allow her to share valuable insights with clients and colleagues about the agencies that write, interpret, and enforce environmental regulations. Using her strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, Krista builds constructive working relationships with agency representatives.
