Having graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Engineering from Massachusetts Maritime Academy, acquired three U.S. Coast Guard licenses and worked on offshore drilling platforms for more than seven years, Keith Brais brings an uncommon degree of real world experience to his clients’ personal injury and wrongful death claims. Keith Brais founded the Brais Law Firm in 2006, after a successful practice representing marine insurers, both domestic and overseas, marine employers and shipping companies and most of the major cruise lines, including Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Lines for nearly 20 years. These Blue Chip marine insurers and operators hired only the best to represent their interests. After representing these entities for nearly two decades, Keith was called upon to defend a cruise line in trial as he had many times before. Shortly after the verdict was announced in favor of Keith's client, the plaintiff approached him in the courtroom and to his shock complimented him on his trial skills. Keith realized at that moment there were only two sides in a properly vetted personal injury or wrongful death lawsuit; the person injured or a family left behind after the wrongful death of a loved one, who will suffer for the remainder of their lives and, on the opposite side, the entity or person that caused the injury or worse and without regard to righteousness or morality had one of two objectives; pay nothing or as little as possible regardless of fault. Since that trial in 2008, Keith has applied his significant skills to helping the injured or families after a wrongful death.
Brais Law is often called upon to represent cruise ship passengers who have suffered a personal injury or been a victim of sexual assault or rape, including molestation of children. Brais Law routinely represents crew members injured aboard cruise ships, cargo and tanker vessels, yachts, ferries, tugs, and barges. Brais Law frequently represents those injured in boating accidents and jet ski & wave runner (aka “personal watercraft”) collisions and accidents.
